Lisa Catherwood is a self-taught designer and artist who has defied the odds. Living with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E.) for nearly 45 years, she has built a thriving graphic and website design business, Sanphire Design. Her journey is a reaction to the imposed constraints of the illness.
Despite the significant challenges, Lisa has found solace and expression through art. Her work explores the interplay of light, colour, and shape, offering a unique perspective on the world around her. Beyond her artistic pursuits, Lisa is a passionate advocate for M.E. awareness, using her platform and skills to support others living with the condition and to advocate particularly during ME Awareness Hour on X. She has also been instrumental in the development of an activist group concerned primarily with the protection of the Lagan Valley Regional Park where she lives in North of Ireland.
